Matty's Movie Transmog Contest!

Hey everyone!

I was linked to a brilliant blog the other day, Sugar & Blood by Matty, and they have come up with a brilliant community contest to celebrate the Oscars, and birthday on the 24th - Happy Birthday for then by the way!

What you have to do is take one of either your favourite movies or one of the nominated films from this year, and re-create the costumes from that movie for 3 characters. Simple? NO! I'm all new to Mogit, so this was a massive challenge, so please bare with me on my submissions!

It's not my favourite movie of all time, but I really did enjoy it, and saw it was a nominee, so 2 in 1! My choice was Snow White and the Huntsman and naturally the three characters I chose are; Snow White, The Huntsman and the Queen. Enjoy!

Snow White:

For Snow White, the items equipped are; The Overlord's spaulders, chestplate, legplates and greaves from the Overlord's transmog set, Enamelled Broadsword and Saronite Protector.

The Queen:

For the Queen I didn't like the lack of black robes for her main outfit which was advertised, and then I saw this one! It's stunning! Sadly there are no flowing robes from blue/green to cream that I could find, but I thought this colour match worked well, and the tiara fits nicely too, shame its not on her actual head, but still looks fine. The items equipped are: Crown of Empowered Fate, Shadowforge's Lightbound Smock, Hands of the Twilight Council and Slippers of Moving Waters.

The Huntsman:

Not my favourite out of the three, due to it being a bit boring and scruffy looking, but to be honest I thought the buckles on his chestpiece fit well with the costume, and of course he has his axe! Items euipped are; Hillman's Leather Vest, Green Workman's Shirt, Guardian Pants, Standard Issue Prisoner Shoes and Deadmines Cleaver

Have a go and see what you can come up with! Entries are being taken till the 20th Feb. Email your entries to Matty at mataoka.of.exodar@gmail.com with Oscar Mog as the title.

Have fun! I definately did, also check out the other entries, theres some fantastic ones up already!

  3. Oho, we've totally picked the same film. It had such epic costumes, right? It deserves double love. :P I really like your take on the queen in particular - I'd forgotten about that particular dress altogether, and the Lightbound robe is a great match. :D

    1. The costumes are indeed amazing, I love the Queens in particular with all the 'death' related items, the bone shoulders, scales, the beetle husks on the dress I did my transmog too, just little touches that make things that little bit more special and perfect for the character :) Will have to check out your transmogs out! :D

  4. Oh ya, me too! I love your Snow White and the Queen both! I think I'm less dazzled by the huntsman simply because in the real photo he's so breathtaking. ;)

  6. The costumes in this movie were great and you've shown a great likeness to them, esp for Snow White. :)

  7. LOL Kaitz I'm reading Hannah's comment and laughing my head off! I think that the Overlord set as Snow White's armour looks particularly good.

  9. The first one is my favorite of the three, and, unfortunately, the IRL face of the hunky huntsman is my next favorite. ;) As for the queen: I wish we could mix plate and cloth, that mog is gorgeous (and I hate that dress usually!)!

    Great job on these mogs!
