HE IS MINE!

Hey everyone!

Need a name for him - any suggestions?

So overjoyed to be able to post this FINALLY, after months of searching and waiting, the Scourged Whelp is finally mine! :D Had it not been for my friend, Lastator, saying 'You should check for whelps, they appear in the mornings' I wouldn't have looked at all, so a massive thanks to him for the reminder!

I found my whelp at the co-ordinates 71,43, but also saw two other spawns at 71,34 and 69,42. Hope this helps anyone looking. Couldn't believe it when I saw the green paw on the map! I actually caught the whelp on my alliance server, Ghostlands, so had to log my priest to use the undead stone I have had in my bags, waiting for the day to upgrade my whelp! My priest can finally hang up for Argent Crusader's Tabard and just chill out at the inn instead of freezing in Icecrown all the time.

So that brings my pet total to 504, still a couple of pets left to get in game, have to wait till the summer for one of them, but the Sumprush Rodent and Singing Cricket will be next on the list, unless some lovely kind person trades me a Spectral Kitten or Ethereal Trader of course!

A promising start to the week!

Hey guys,

Well its Wednesday again, and a new WoW week has begun and what a start I have had!

Wednesday is LFR raid night in our guild, so whilst waiting for that to start, I get on with some dailies, to try and get ever closer to actually getting all of them to exalted. Thankfully it looks like I have one more day of Golden Lotus ones to finally get exalted, so that already is a big bonus to the day. Those ones HAVE to be the worst.

Dailies are done and I head back to base to exchange my charms for coins and I see someone selling the Vial of Sands drake for 25k.. bargain alert! I am now the proud owner of this mount, and it is my first passenger flying mount too! Amazing stuff :)

LFR invites start flying, so we head off into Terrace of the Endless Spring. I didn't mind this raid when it first came out, but I think the combination of it being LFR and that it's getting old is grating on me. Thankfully chatting on Mumble with my lovely guildies made it go much faster and had some laughs along the way. We kill Lei Shi and my tier shoulder token drops, which is fantastic, but Sha was even kinder and dropped the tier hat and my coin ACTUALLY won loot, and it was the Axe! /squeal! - Amazing luck, was completely shocked to see it wasn't gold, never mind it being the item I was hoping for the most. Just need to get 3 Sigils of each type and I will have the gem to put in it.

After the raid I fancied some alt action on my little Draenei hunter, and whilst just randomly messing around in STV with the Crimson Moth pet spawns, I get a common --> uncommon upgrade, which is nice, but my achievement for Eastern Kingdoms Safari goes off too! Hurray :D It's been bugged for ages, showing I didn't have the pet when I did, but I have it now and that's all that counts. Roll on summer for the Qiraji Guardling and hopefully by then I will own the Scourged Whelp too!

Hoping to get my hunter to outlands by the end of the week, and possibly finish my questline for the sha touched gem, fingers crossed!

50k Gold Challenge Complete!

Hey everyone!

I have managed to hit my target of making 50k gold and have done it with plenty of time to spare! So proud of myself, sure it's not a huge amount, but still proud regardless! I was struggling to make some money via my pet sales this week aswell, as there are alot of people who insist on undercutting by a stupid amount, but patience has paid off and been able to sell some to hit my goal.

So what is my reward for reaching my goal? Well I bought a Blazing Hippogryph mount for 90k! Woohoo :D At first I thought I had paid too much or the going rate, but after crying on twitter for help, I was assured I had paid a decent price for it. I'm not going to learn it, instead I'm hoping to trade it on for a Spectral Kitten or an Ethereal Trader, or just straight gold, we shall see!

Will be looking into setting a new gold making challenge in the near future, why not join in and set yourself one too! :D

Blog Azeroth Shared Topic - WoW Collections/Hoarding!

or should that be HORDEing... moving swiftly on!

Hey all!

I spotted a few people on my blogroll had participated in a new Blog Azeroth shared topic, and thought I had to get in on some of that! The topic in question is;

World of Warcraft has added many different items for players to collect, whether it be collecting pets, mounts, transmog gear or knickknacks about the lore. This week’s topic asks what you do collect in the game and what is your prized item from that collection?

Well where do I begin..

1. PETS! - WOW /shock that I would mention pets as my top answer. Seriously though, I have collected pets for a good while now, before the hype of Battle Pets came along, a good friend of mine, Jaedia, introduced me to it properly. I would say sometime in TBC was the start of it! I had the odd pet, from vendors or quest rewards, but I actively/desperately wasn't checking auction houses, ebay and forums for pets as I do now. The introduction of the TCG pets and the battle pets has definately increased the amount of people collecting, by a huge amount, and I just hope they continue to meet the demand by bringing plenty out each patch/expansion.

Finally got him!
2. Achievements - I suppose its a collection right? I like to do the achievements, mainly the professions ones, but in general any achievement is always nice to have, especially the ones with rewards. Loved the Raiding with Leashes achievement, and hope Blizz introduce more of these raid pets.

3. Transmog gear - I wasn't terribly bothered when I played my priest, but now that I have plate to be concerned with, and how amazing most of the plate stuff looks, its become a mini obsession, and to make things worse, I was introduced to Mogit recently, so many shiny plate pieces to obtain.I'm still working on my red plate set as of now, and hopefully will be lucky and get some drops sometime soon.

These are the main areas I focus on, I like mounts too, but I'm not really bothered if I get them or not, think this is down to being used to going mount hunting with my boyfriend who is a collector of them, so even if one dropped, no chance I would roll against him ;) I would love to get the panther mounts though! Kitties :D

What would you like to see in WoW 1 year from now?

Hey all,

I've been thinking recently about things in game that have changed so dramatically, and only now are we seeing things get back to 'normal' e.g the Stormwind gates are apparently fully fixed in the next patch (Get your screenshots of Deathwings destruction now!) Personally I wouldn't have seen any of this coming, as dramatically as it has been I mean, and it got me thinking of where WoW might be in another years time. Whats the next 'evil' to spread through Azeroth? It may have already been said by Blizzard and I have missed it due to not wanting to read too many spoilers, I know of a certain Orc who is, up and coming so to speak, but other than that, I'm not sure where Blizzard will go with the next expansion. I'm hoping Blizzcon will have some sort of announcement!

Matty's Movie Transmog Contest!

Hey everyone!

I was linked to a brilliant blog the other day, Sugar & Blood by Matty, and they have come up with a brilliant community contest to celebrate the Oscars, and birthday on the 24th - Happy Birthday for then by the way!

What you have to do is take one of either your favourite movies or one of the nominated films from this year, and re-create the costumes from that movie for 3 characters. Simple? NO! I'm all new to Mogit, so this was a massive challenge, so please bare with me on my submissions!

It's not my favourite movie of all time, but I really did enjoy it, and saw it was a nominee, so 2 in 1! My choice was Snow White and the Huntsman and naturally the three characters I chose are; Snow White, The Huntsman and the Queen. Enjoy!

Snow White:

For Snow White, the items equipped are; The Overlord's spaulders, chestplate, legplates and greaves from the Overlord's transmog set, Enamelled Broadsword and Saronite Protector.

The Queen:

For the Queen I didn't like the lack of black robes for her main outfit which was advertised, and then I saw this one! It's stunning! Sadly there are no flowing robes from blue/green to cream that I could find, but I thought this colour match worked well, and the tiara fits nicely too, shame its not on her actual head, but still looks fine. The items equipped are: Crown of Empowered Fate, Shadowforge's Lightbound Smock, Hands of the Twilight Council and Slippers of Moving Waters.

The Huntsman:

Not my favourite out of the three, due to it being a bit boring and scruffy looking, but to be honest I thought the buckles on his chestpiece fit well with the costume, and of course he has his axe! Items euipped are; Hillman's Leather Vest, Green Workman's Shirt, Guardian Pants, Standard Issue Prisoner Shoes and Deadmines Cleaver

Have a go and see what you can come up with! Entries are being taken till the 20th Feb. Email your entries to Matty at mataoka.of.exodar@gmail.com with Oscar Mog as the title.

Have fun! I definately did, also check out the other entries, theres some fantastic ones up already!

CSI: Westfall

Hey all!

I mentioned in a previous post that I was levelling a new alt, a Draenei Hunter! Really enjoying her, even though she's only a newbie, I am loving the change to doing Alliance quests, especially since they have remade the quest hubs.

I started obviously in the Draenei starting zone, but I have already done those previously and didn't really fancy repeating those when there are other new quests to see! So after asking a guildy, Jaedia, for a portal to Stormwind, off I went!

Westfall was my first quest destination but before starting, I had to go after Hogger after all these years. Little did I know he has his own mini event after 'defeating' him now but an NPC as famous as him does deserve one. He was taken to the Stockades so I can only hope I'll see him in there when I hit the appropriate level.

To the Stockades!

After messing around with Hogger, I head to Westfall. Straight away you are hit with the sight of a dead Old Blanchy! O.M.G! Wasn't expecting that, also the CSI team investigating the crime scene was pretty funny, with WoW's own version of Horatio, fully equipped with snazzy glasses! It is a good quest line, and takes you all around the map as you would expect and you end up in Sentinel Hill, a partly walled version with lots of homeless Stormwind citizens scattered around. Throughout the quest chain you see a shadowy/cloaked figure who is the mastermind behind it all, and to be honest I've kinda guessed who it is, but we shall see, don't wanna give any spoilers away for anyone who wants to do it hehe. I had noticed that there were alot of 'homeless' npcs and a guildy, Ryyus, filled in the story for me. Basically the King had to raise taxes to help with the rebuild of Stormwind and fund the war effort making the people suffer money wise, hence the crazy amount of homeless people flocking to Westfall for safety. Pretty sad :(

No wonder he isn't wearing the boots..
Something which I'm sure Blizz employees thought was valid, caught my eye though, and not in a good way! Obviously the following npc is a bum, and obviously he needs something to carry/transport his prized possessions around wherever he travels, but also to use it as a toilet?!!!!?!! Just eww.. there is plenty of farmland to do his business on!! No need for pooping in his cart.

Perfectly poo-less cart going right here!

The quests give a little good feeling as you carry on and you get to feed the homeless that are scattered on the outskirts of Sentinel Hill. I did notice there was a roast pig going to waste near the vendors though....

By this time I had hit lvl 15 and was spamming my Dungeon Finder queue button. Was definately worth doing and looking forward to finishing the zone and moving onto the next.

Hopefully the other zones will be as eventful!

The Challenge!

Hey peeps!

While doing the 20 Days of Gold Making blog event set by Nev at Auction House Addict, I mentioned I would set myself a gold making challenge and here it is!

Make 50k in two weeks

Sure some of you reading would easily do that in a day, but to a novice like me, this would be a nice challenge, to see if I can actually do it in the given time. I will start today, Feb 13th and will hopefully be 50k richer by the 27th. It's going to be a tough one, just hope people on Ghostlands are looking to buy pets for the next two weeks.

Why not have a go yourself? ;)

You are not prepared?

No Illidan, I'm not!

Hey all,

With the announcement of patch 5.2 coming ever closer, (2 weeks away it has been reported - eek!) I think it's definately time to prepare, and rather quickly. The list grows longer every day of what I had hoped to have ready, but so far it's looking like this;

My lil hunter :D
  1. Get lady wolfy raid ready - We were discussing this in guild chat yesterday and its been reported that the item level that is going to be required is 480, or around that number at least. I am currently at 476, so need some luck next week! Will keep my fingers crossed.
  2. Level my Hunter alt - As mentioned in a previous post, I am absolutely desperate to get my hands on the new pet Pierre, and it is the Engineers who would otherwise be getting spammed for their cooldown materials, unless I can get my hunter levelled asap as she is an engineer. Personally I doubt I will be able to, but we shall see! She is level 10 by the way.. ¬.¬
  3. Get all reputations maxed - Another aspect I have been slacking on, since switching characters I have had to re-do the factions and so far, its only Klaxxi, Tilers and Cloud Serpents which are maxed. Still honored with Golden Lotus so I haven't even started August Celestials and Shado-Pan! Really need to knuckle down and get those Golden Lotus dailies done each day, even though they are the worst ones :(
  4. Professions - Again with switching to my wolfy, I haven't got cooking, first aid, archaeology but most importantly fishing, and with the new fishing pets this is a MUST!
Sure its only four points, but MAJOR time consuming points. Will be a challenge, but I say bring it!

Kaitz~

Time to make it official

Yep, it's that time to officially state that my Priest is no longer my main character. Never EVER thought this would happen, but due to guild changes, quitting raiding and just the fact my Death Knight is so much fun and I have loads of goals for her, I will be completely benching my priest. I did kinda hint at it in an earlier post and I will continue to do my daily cloth making and my farm to keep on earning some cash on that server, but the majority of the time is spent on Ghostlands on my wolfy.

Can't bring myself to ditch my 'online name' as Kaitz though! ;D So no changes there.

20 Days of Gold Making - Day 20

20. Lets spread some blog love - which are your 'must read' or 'go to' gold blogs or even other places you go for information & reading matter?

I get my info about gold making from;

  1. Auction House Addict - Of course! Nev alway's explains in great detail of hints and tips on where to make that extra buck, and for novices like me, its great!
  2. Elvinelol - I joined up to elvines forum after someone retweeted him on Twitter, and I haven't looked back, he is a machine when it comes to making gold, and I've made money by following some of his advice, definately check it out!
  3. Golden Crusade - Again very informative and easy to follow the advice.
Just want to say a massive thanks to Nev for this great community event. Had loads of fun doing it, and as a result of being more aware of gold making, have hit 100k gold! Woohoo!

20 Days of Gold Making - Day 19

19. Have you bought yourself anything really expensive as a reward for earning all that gold? Or do you have a self-present in mind for when you reach your goal?

I did just spend 7k on the Darkmoon Faire tank trinket for my wolfy, but not as a present for making gold, more of a hope to increase itemlvl, but having the spare funds to do so wouldn't have been possible without my auction house efforts so, kinda is a mini gift for my efforts! :D

As mentioned in a previous transmog post, I would love to get my Jade Panther mounts, and/or any of the other panther mounts as they look great. Also still need to get hold of a Vial of Sands for to actually own a flying passenger mount - would be sweet!

I was hoping to hit 100k gold before this 20 days event was over, but lets see what happens in the next day or so!

20 Days of Gold Making - Day 18

18.What is the most important bit of advice you could give to a new gold maker? (not a game newbie though, just a newbie gold maker)

I would definately say to take a few small risks, nothing too great, and to also bide your time with some items. They don't have to be sold at that exact moment, if the market seems low, keep them a day or even half a day, prices vary so much and its important to know what the average selling price is of a particular area so you don't get stung and lose money.

I'm a mean green killing machine!

RAWR! - Take a moment to recover from that HUGE fright.. ;D

Hey peeps,

Just a quick post to update you on my transmog hunting, I have finally completed my recoloured Warrior T5 set, and I think its a fantastic fit for my lady worgen. I am especially pleased with the helmet as 99.9% of helmets look totally pants on worgens, sure my 'hair' sticks out, but it isn't terrible! Love my cape with the fur trim also, and managed to pick up a green sword to make the outfit complete.

So whats next? Well to totally and utterly complete this outfit, would love to become an owner of the Jade Panther mount which Jewelcrafters make, then I can play my own wolf version of Power Rangers. Staying with that theme, I have been looking into other sets from TBC heroics, and this recoloured paladin set would make a great red ranger outfit.

For now I will stick to sitting on my Green Proto Drake!

20 Days of Gold Making- Day 17

17. Pets - Did you used to do the Vendor pet sales? How have pet battles changed things for you?

Back when my old server, Vashj, was popular, and I mean back in the days of vanilla wow, I used to play on the neutral auction house when I was in Booty Bay. Had an alt planted to receive the mails of pets, and made a little money, nothing amazing (remember how hard it was to get the gold together back then!)

Recently I havent tried with any of the vendor pets, I think there's too many doing it already, at least on my server. Pet battles and being able to cage pets has changed the way the pet market works, and when you think about it, because of this there are more collectors, hence why pets are doing so well, in general and personally for me! They are a desirable item, the rarer the pet, the more /flex you can do = profit for pet sellers.

20 Days of Gold Making - Day 16

16.Flipping! Do you flip stuff regularly or sometimes? Big ticket items or smaller high volume stuff?

Flipping is a very very new term to me, by what I understand, its buying up cheap items that are already on the auction and selling for a few gold/silver higher and you have successfully 'flipped' an item? Hope someone can clear that up for me.

If it means buying up items that are cheap which are not a full stack and making it up to a full stack to sell on for alot more, then yes I have done that before.

My main market is pet selling, and depending on your server, prices vary a hell of a lot, e.g I buy raid pets on one server for around 500g and can sell them on another server for 3k. This is my main source of flipping, and  I would definately say it was my main source of income along side flipping the small volume items (ore/cloth/cooking materials).

Just a quick note also, going back to day 12 when I mentioned I hadn't had an oops moment as of yet? It happened. There were 2 Vial of the Sands on the auction house for 23k each, and I did think, 'hmm the prices have come way down!' - nope! Was just someone selling them off cheap, I check back after running to the mailbox and back to the auction house and they were gone. They are now up for around 40k, could have made a nice stash of cash, if I wasn't so cautious! I will be more impulsive next time - I hope!

20 Days of Gold Making - Day 15

15. Professions - do you have all of them, some or none? Which is your favorite for goldmaking?

Back on Vashj, my professions were perfect; Tailoring/Enchanting, Alchemy/Herbalism, Blacksmithing/Mining and with my boyfriends characters being Jewelcrafter/Blacksmithing and Inscription/Herbalism. Whenever we needed things, we pretty much had it covered with the exception of Leatherworking and Engineering, but have never personally needed anything other than pets from Engineering, nothing to assist my characters stats for raiding or needing any cooldowns to make something to sell on, we pretty much had it covered. Had a very steady income to cover costs and get a little profit with enchanting alone so this was definately my favourite for making a little gold.

Now that I mainly play on my Deathknight, I have Mining which is always a winner, either ore or bars, but I am quite disappointed in Jewelcrafting. It is probably due to my server, as most things go it's usually the case, but I thought I might have been able to make a hell of a lot of gold from it, and so far, not so much :(

I would love to have a scribe or/and an engineer to see how I could make money with that profession and I haven't owned a character with a high level of either, so would be interesting to see if they are money makers or money pits.

I would definately say its a toss up between Enchanting and Mining for my favourite professions to make gold.

Last but not least

Hey all,

First I want to apologise for the lack of posts, I haven't been online too much over the past few days and barely had time to publish my already written out 20 days of gold making posts, so, sorry for that! Normal service will resume ;)

This post concerns my last ever ticket bought item from the darkmoon faire being bought, the Swift Forest Strider! Such a cutie, and I love the colours, and of course having a matching pet is just amazing!

Squawk!

So what to to with my extra tickets? I'm thinking I might keep back 80 tickets incase there is all of a sudden a new pet added to the vendor, /fingerscrossed, but I may just end up buying extra pets and selling them on, a 2-3k worth in each one. Not 100% sure on that idea though.

Also remember to do your pet battle daily from Jeremy at the Darkmoon Faire, for the chance to get your Darkmoon Eye pet before it disappears for another month!

Kaitz~

20 Days of Gold Making - Day 14

14. How much of your playtime is devoted to gold making? Do you raid/pvp/pet battle too or is the AH your main playtime?

I wouldn't say a major amount of time was spent at the AH during the day, but at the start and end of the day I usually check/re-post/collect the dosh, or if I have sent LOADS over to my bank I will check it midday too just to keep on top of things and clear out a full mailbox.

I don't raid currently, but I do my dailies and pet hunting/battling which takes up most of my day, but I do look forward to my auction house time when its due. I have also on occasion used the WoW app on my phone to collect gold if I have been out and unable to log in, so theres a little bit more time spent concerned over my auctions.

Got my mind on my money, as the achievement goes!

20 Days of Gold Making - Day 13

13. What was your biggest 'Yay!' moment?

I have MANY yay moments when I sell something for over 2k, personally its just the relief that I was able to sell it on and make a lovely profit haha but I suppose my biggest yay moment so far has to be a profit on a Anubisath Idol pet, buying for 500g, selling for just under 6k, I think that has been my biggest profit/yay!

Not the most exciting profit to experienced gold makers, but to me it made my day!

20 Days of Gold Making - Day 12

12. What was your biggest 'oops' moment?

I haven't yet had a major oops moment, I have recently lost gold on a couple of pets which I thought were worth more than they actually are, so made a loss on them, but nothing so devastating that it would take ages to recover from, yet anyway! *touch wood*

I couldn't think of anything worse than forgetting an extra digit when listing an auction, must be just horrible :(

Will update this if I do have a oops in the future!

20 Days of Gold Making - Day 11

11. Most of us use TSM, Auctioneer and/or Auctionator in combo with Postal - are there any other lesser known gold making addons you use?

I actually do not use any auction/gold making addons, but would love to get into it at some point. If my gold making really kicked off, I would definately invest some time to try each of the popular auction addons and see which one I could use effectively. I do use postal as I don't think I could cope having to open each bag individually.

For now, I will stick to manual listings :D
