20 Days of Gold Making - Day 10

10. Do you farm materials? Why? Why not? & which ones, where?

Up until recently, I could definately say I didn't actively farm materials, but with the new information about a certain little stove which I am DYING to get my hands on, I have been ore farming like there is no tomorrow. Of course I want to get my very own Pierre, and I'm pretty certain others will be as desperate to get him too, so if I can provide the materials for a quick way for those said people to get him as soon as, I will be in the money! He is crafted by Engineers and uses x5 Living Steel and x15 Stabilized Lightning Source - each source is x10 Ghost Iron Bars so quite alot of materials. I think the sources will work like Imperial Silk, as a one day cooldown, but wouldn't want to 100% confirm that.

Guess we will see when 5.2 hits! I know I will be stockpiling till then.

20 Days of Gold Making - Day 9

9.What's your favourite niche market & why?

No big surprises here, but has to be companion/battle pets, really the only part of the market I'm comfortable with for now, and it's so varied which is always fun to log into each day and see who is trying to sell which pet and for how much, usually quite funny prices. For example, I sold a Black Tabby Cat for 3k and the person who bought it upgraded it to a blue quality pet and has it on for 35k now, good luck to them, but not sure it's going to happen :(

Another market I have slightly dabbled in would be the transmog market, I am constantly checking the look of any greens I get from drops, to see if 1. I would consider it for any of my characters enough to buy it on the auction house if it was on and 2. Even if its not transmog worthy, would the stats help someone leveling - especially leather pieces for all those monks out there. I have been running alot of TBC dungeons for plate transmog and I collect alot of greens this way, so its a good learning curve to check out how well the market is on my server. The main tip I've picked up is, if its a quite revealing piece of gear, chances are it will sell. Naughty people on my server it seems!

With these two markets alone, I am kept pretty busy on my bank alt, so who knows where I will branch out to next :)

I never noticed that before...

Hey guys,

Sorry I haven't posted a non 20 days of Gold making post in a while, but I was looking through my screenshots last night and had to post these shots I took. I distinctly remember taking them as the title suggests, I have never noticed the details until now:

Mrs.Yeti with a pink bow in her hair

The ceiling in Karazhan in the Opera room with Orc Cherubs on

How funny does the onyxia mount look at this angle!
Gnome for sale at Breanni's Pet Shop!

Fish bike in Shrine of Seven Stars!

Love the Karazhan ceiling, alot of detail for something not necessarily noticed so much, that's why Blizz are so good <3

20 Days of Gold Making - Day 8

8. Thinking back to day 2, did you ever reach your goal or are you still working towards it? If you reached it - have you set yourself a new one?

I would definately say I'm still working towards the goal, if you class 'making as much money as possible' a valid goal haha! but as mentioned on day 2, I will be setting myself a gold making challenge at the end of this community event, so I could revisit this question in more detail then I think!

I'm well on the way to making a nice amount of gold though, since starting this event, I have made approx 40-45k gold from buying cheap and selling high within the pet market, so hopefully *fingers crossed* it will continue! I would like to break into the mount market also, but currently, my jewelcrafter doesn't know all the panther mount recipes, and the market is quite flooded with those already, have to think about this one a little more.

20 Days of Gold Making - Day 7

7. If you were starting over again (maybe on a new server perhaps), how would you start building some capital & what goal would you set yourself?

This question applies so well to my alliance Death Knight, literally only been playing her a couple of months and on a brand new server.

As with every new character, you have to pound the quests to gain money, but also the items they reward, you can't always use so these are perfect ways to build up cash. Also starting professions, especially on a Death Knight, there are no trainers in the starting zone for professions, so you have to speed through to get to Stormwind/Orgrimmar to finish off the starting zone and officially start the game. I blasted my way through these, raced to Stormwind and immediately ran into Ellwyn for some Copper Vein hunting. This was a fantastic way to make money, because it was something I was doing to aid my character anyway, in building her Mining Skill, and I needed gems for my Jewel crafting, so I would grind and grind until I felt I had more than I needed and sold the spare ore and stones for big bucks. Rinse and Repeat until your done! Plus Azeroth Ore and Stones are always a good seller so I had some luck on my side.

20 Days of Gold Making - Day 6

6. Which market has made you the most gold over the years?

I have to substitute years for months I'm afraid with this one!

Look out Breanni, there's a new pet seller in town!
The best profit is definately since the pets could be caged and the auction house seems to have exploded with pet selling/buying. With the new additions of raid pets and TCG pets being more 'common' on the auction house, you can sometimes pick up a good bargain, for example, I paid 5k for a Crawling Claw and sold it for 13k. I have successful sold LOTS of the raid drop pets, I buy them all for between 300-900g each and sold each for just under 3k. I have also recently bought a Guardian Cub for 4k and sold it for 9k, another lovely profit. I hope to continue this success with many more pets, hoping to make something on those in the next week or so.

20 Days of Gold Making - Day 5

5. Do you keep the same banker alt or do you change them up occasionally? Why?

Hmm well 'gearing' my bank alt with bags which become soulbound, and taking the time to create guilds for them and tabs, which technically I could transfer the rights to another character, I personally don't see the need to change bank alts once they are made.

The only change I made recently to a guild bank alt was the race I picked when I made my new banker on Stormreaver, due to transferring. I had a Blood Elf as my banker on Vashj, but Stormreavers alt is a lady Orc in a lovely pink dress! Haven't been able to find any pink shoes to cover those feet though....

2 Pets, 1 Day!

Sorry couldn't resist the title!

Hey guys,

As the title suggests, I have finally been able to get 2 more pets to add to my collection. Firstly the Argent Squire, I have been doing the dailies on my Worgen to obtain the Alliance version of this Argent Tournament pet and finally got him today - Woohoo!

My second pet is the Dragon Kite! I'm still a bit in shock at finally obtaining this amazing pet. As I was scanning the auction house, checking out the pet section for any I could possibly need or turn a profit on, I stumble across him for 80k. My problem was I didn't have 80k to spend on it and decided to contact the seller to see if they would accept money and a pet which they could sell on if they wish, so my offer was 60k + my spare Eye of the Legion pet, and thankfully he accepted. You may think I'm crazy for paying that much for him, but it secures him in my collection - plus it was on a server I don't really play on anymore, so the money wasn't getting used. Win/win situation!

Taking the kite old school raiding at Magtheridon's Lair

Matches my Onyxia mount perfectly!

I love the animations with this pet. I love the swishing tail as you run with it, and the gently flapping wings as the wind hits it. Also if you stand long enough, a lightning bolt shoots through it.

So with my two lovely additions, my current pet total is 503. Only two more Trading Card Game pets to go, unfortunately the two hardest to get - eek!

20 Days of Gold Making - Day 4

4. Do you use a banker alt/guild? When did you start doing that & why?

I have always used a bank alt, for both quick access to an auction house, to buy or sell and storing my precious materials! While I was on Vashj- EU, I had my own guild so I could have the guild bank tabs, which were super tidy and had the tabs named for each profession the mats were for. I have to have a tidy bank, on any character - period. Can't stand a messy bank. When I moved my priest to Stormreaver in December 2012, I had to re-create this which was a bit of a pain, but finally got signatures for my guild, and <ING Direct:> was born! It was amazing how many bank names were already taken, couldn't have HSBC, Natwest, Halifax, LloydsTSB or Barclays. It's too essential to me personally to have a place to store things, as I would hate to sell my materials, and then the next day realise I needed those and then pay more than what I sold them for the previous day!

I still need to create a bank guild on Ghostlands-EU, my alt has frostweave bags so at least I can store a good amount of items, but that is no competition for the guild bank tabs.

I was also advised that for my bank character, a Monk would be amazing due to the Roll ability at level 5, a quicker way to move around, so my two latest guild bank characters have been Monks!

What's your daily ritual when you first log in for the day?

Hey guys,

I have just tidied up my desk from the clutter which is post it notes containing reminders of things I need to do on WoW, either for achievements or for my blog. It got me thinking of how everyone would go about starting the day, before they get into the dailies, pvp, pet battles, whatever you do for most of the day.

If you could post on your blog with this posts title, could be a mini community event from me!

  1. Check my three servers bank alts - have to check if anything has sold, but more importantly, whats for sale on that server, hate the thought of missing any bargains!
  2. Check my three servers Black Market Auction houses - again, I would kick myself if I missed something amazing.
  3. Log my Priest - she is parked in Icecrown most of the time so I have a quick fly around checking for whelpy, and then hearth to do my cloth and shard  cooldown and then its back to Icecrown.
  4. Log my Death Knight - Also check Icecrown for the elusive whelp.
  5. Finally start my day - Get to work on those dailies!

Kaitz~

20 Days of Gold Making - Day 3

3. What were the first techniques/tricks/tips you used when starting out?

I'm assuming this means when starting out to make money and not starting a fresh character.

I have taken the time to look closely at my characters professions, and to see what is actually available to me. My level 90 characters are my priest, who is a tailor/enchanter and my deathknight who is a miner/jewelcrafter. Looking firstly into my priest, her daily cooldowns include converting 5 ethereal shards into a Sha Crystal and also the Imperial Silk cooldown. So theres a crystal each day, and another piece of cloth, sure the cloth is BoP, but the chance of the pets and then having enough cloth to make BoE epics or bags, big bucks to be made there. Secondly my deathknight, of course if I see a vein, I go for it, so doing my dailies I get approx 10+ stacks of Ghost Iron Ore, and if I'm lucky, some Trillium ore. Prospecting those to get crystals to make Serpents Eyes and crafting gems for the auction house is a nice little earner. Then theres the daily research which gives me a new recipe which is always nice, and then the extra gems to pop on the auction house. Depending on which gems you get, could be 150g+ or could be 30g. So those are a start to save me from hard core grinding.

I have recently posted about my transmog adventures, looking for new gear sets to make my deathknight look epic, and whilst doing my hunting, the money from killing the bosses, the items they drop and just general greys/cloth/greens/raidpets are a great money maker. A few hours work for a few thousand gold potentially - don't mind if I do!

20 Days of Gold Making - Day 2

2. If you set yourself a goal, what was your goal & at what point did you set it?

Well I haven't set myself any gold making goals, as of yet! I'm planning on setting myself a goal after completing this community event, not entirely sure on how much gold the target will be and how much time I will give myself to make it, but really want to see if I can do it! Will be a true test to see if I could make it as a gold farmer haha!

I suppose I do have a goal, like everyone else, to make as much gold as possible but to continue bidding on mounts and pets and general shinies on the black market auction house. Those trading card game items are too good to pass up and will ultimately save me dipping into real life 'gold' funds!

20 Days of Gold Making - Day 1

Hey all!

I was browsing through my blog roll and happened to see Jojo from AdmiringAzeroth posted her response to a great community event from Nev over at Auction House Addict so I had to participate! The title is 20 days of Gold Making and the questions per day are brilliant, they really get your thinking about certain aspects of your 'gold making' and auction house playing.

So here is my Day 1!

1. When did you start your gold making & what triggered it?

I have always been a bit of a looter, when it comes to questing/leveling, I never leave a thing behind, I would rather go to the vendor 10 times and make 1g than bin the items I pick up, but that wasn't initially me thinking "I must keep these to make gold!" was just what I did, so I guess that was technically when I started gold making. I can't really say I've ever thought 'Today I will make 10k gold' although would be a nice challenge some day!

Obviously as you level, you want gear upgrades, mounts/pets, the next flying skill level, even materials for to boost your profession skill, all of these which cost gold, and the higher you level the more gold it costs, so just day to day in Azeroth, you need some sort of income to keep ontop of things. Also the new Black Market Auction House, I spent 52k on obtaining my Rocket Chicken pet, and that was months ago, I have only just managed to get that money back. I have also seen the Dragon Kite on the bmah twice, sadly missed out due to lack of funds so these hard to get pets are definately the triggers for me to be making gold to make sure I can be in the bidding war to get them.

Mini Icecrown in my garden!

Hey all,

It's been snowing here in the UK for the past few days, and its all anyone can talk about! I on the other hand took it as an opportunity to open up my Mega Bloks Lich King and Sindragosa set which I got for christmas and to get some mini Icecrown action going on in my garden!

Here's the results -

The Lich King and Sindra out for a stroll

The crack in the ice in my bird bath reminded me of the WOTLK cinematic <3

A little bit of colour editing to make this one extra icy!

As you can see on the Sindragosa pictures, she has damage to one eye, which makes it look like her pupil, but its not supposed to be like that :( Was quite disappointed when I noticed that. Her head was wrapped in a piece of cardboard for protection aswell, so must have happened prior to being boxed up. I'm going to contact Mega Bloks to see if I can get a replacement piece so she can have 2 matching eyes.
I had sooooooooooo much fun doing this, was freezing by the end of it but well worth it! I have just ordered myself the Deathwing Stormwind set from Amazon so I can't wait till that arrives!

The transmog hunt begins!

With maxing my valor points for the week, and wanting to do something fun, I decided to browse through my Atlasloot to see which old content raids drop some lovely bulky plate gear for my DK to get spruced up, and wow! there's a hell of a lot of choice. When you haven't been back to some of these raids for literally years, it amazing re-visiting the bosses which took you weeks to get close to killing, and in under 2 minutes, swoop in and kill it. This week, I have cleared Naxxramas, The Eye, Serpentshrine, Hyjal, Sartharion, Onyxia, Magtheridon, Black Temple, Trial of the Crusader and Gruul's Lair. I cleared Naxx, Magtheridon, Hyjal, Trial of the Crusader and Gruul's on my own, but had help for the others. Hopefully with some gear upgrades later down the road, I can hold my own and dps a little better to solo them in the future.

So what was up for grabs?

Naxxramas - Obviously want the tier pieces, its one of the only sets that the helmet actually looks alright on a worgen, in my opinion! Also Slayer of the Lifeless, Death's Bite and Torment of the Banished. Sure, Slayer and Torment are only 1handers, but they look too cool! Might want to go Frost and dual wield as an offspec some day. I did manage to get 1 tier token, the Claymore of Ancient Power and the pet from Loatheb, so not a great haul in the tier aspect, but nevertheless, I can solo the whole place in around 1.5hours, maybes a bit less, so besides looking for loot, the money I get from the bosses and cloth/greens/stuff is always helpful.

The Eye - Sadly Deathknights didn't exist back in TBC, so I have no tier sets to aim for in any of those raids, however, re-coloured warrior and paladin tier drops are definately a must! So far I've managed to get Fel-Steel Warhelm from here, the other drops I am hoping for are; Royal Gauntlets of Silvermoon, Twinblade of the Phoenix and Greaves of the Bloodwarder. Wouldn't say no to the mount either! With the increase in drop percent, I should have it soon enough.

Serpentshrine - Hope to get Glowing Breastplate of Truth, Pauldrons of the Argent Sentinel, World Breaker and Glorious Gauntlets of Crestfall from here! Already picked up Krakken-Heart Breastplate and Pauldrons of the Wardancer for my re-coloured warrior set.

Hyjal - Only three items from here, Blood-Stained Pauldrons, Cataclysms Edge and Legguards of Endless Rage.

Gruul's Lair - Would love the Hammer of the Naaru mace from the first boss, amazing looks to it.

Black Temple - The top two items would of course be Glaives, but realistically any plate and any weapons that drop in BT looks AMAZING, especially Crown of Empowered Fate - Tiara! All your plate belong to me.

Magtheridon/Onyxia/Sartharion - Mainly wanted the bags to upgrade my 20slotters to 22s. I did manage to also get my tier gloves and some plate legs from Sarth which match the tier though! Hoping to try 3 drakes next week in 25man to get the mount, would be nice indeed.

Trial of the Crusader - Wasn't technically planning to go here (sort of forgot it existed..) but I have started up the Argent Tournament dailies to get my alliance squire 'pet' and thought I'd give it a go. The items look really nice from here! So any of the weapons but be lovely, not terribly bothered though, was just nice to do and say I solo-ed it!

Long story short, I got 3 of the main pieces I wanted to get the recoloured warrior t5 set, sure its green, but it makes me look mean! Hope to get the remaining pieces next week.

Definately want to try and make this a regular thing I do each week, and DEFINATELY need to increase my bank storage space.

For the Alliance?

Hey all,

As you can see from previous screenshots on my blog, my main character is a Blood Elf. I have recently given up raiding on her and I'm struggling as to what to do on her. Sure the pet battling is still fun, but I don't have any other goals for gear etc until 5.2 hits. In a previous post I mentioned I have been leveling my very enjoyable Worgen Deathknight on another server and finally hit 90 - yay! It was great to be able to get the achievement Double Agent and to finally begin gearing her in heroics. My good friend Ryyus helped out enormously with some crafted gear so I could go straight off to heroics for some tanking practice and I'm loving it! I think for now I have so much to focus on for gearing her, that my priest may have to be benched for a little while.

I love having level 90 characters on two servers as each auction house will have its own little treasures. For example there was a Bananas for sale today on Stormreavers auction house for 70k, which to be honest, I thought was fair, if I hadn't already got this pet, I would be scrambling the money together right now! Beats paying £35-40 on ebay any day.

There's also the Black Market auction house to consider, two servers = two sets of treats! Hopefully this will pay off and I will see a Spectral Kitten or Ethereal Trader up there soon. I have missed the Dragon Kite pet twice from the bmah, so third time lucky on that would be nice too!

Hey all,

Just a little post to highlight the amazing amount of money that was raised by Warcrafters for the Superstorm Sandy appeal for the American Red Cross, $2.3 million dollars from Cinder Kitten sales. Amazing! So proud to be the owner of my little kitten and the double bonus of owning her is that it was all for charity :)

Blasts from the past

Hey guys,

I've been rolling through some of the old(ish) WoW machinimas/songs/videos that I used to have on repeat, like I'm sure you did too! Thought it would be fun to highlight some of the greatest which make me smile!

Machinimas:

Of course Illegal Danish has to be the first one linked, too funny and must have taken an absolute age to do. Part 1 and 2, Part 3.

The Craft of War: BLIND - an amazing video! Has no voice acting, but the song strangely fits perfectly!

The 25th Line - This was an entry to Blizzcon's 2010 Machinima contest and for some reason, didn't win! There's also a christmas special.

Thrall's Crib - Spoof of MTV's Cribs Show - Brilliant idea!

World of Workcraft - Sick of slaying dragons? Could always play World of Workcraft and max out accounting.

The day after the cataclysm ended
Wrath of a couch potato
Theory of a Death Knight
Fruit of Elune
Everyday WoW's Shufflin'

Songs:

Code Monkey
Nyhm - Just Loot it
Ulduar
U Can't Thorim This
Nyhm - Ni Hao
Pugs all night
Alexstrasza
MC Raiders

MrVoletron remix videos:

Thorim ft. Onyxia Wipe Guy
You face Jaraxxus
Algalon
Onyxia Wipe

These are just a mere few from my favourites list! Love em!

I got my eye on you...

 Hey guys!

The Darkmoon Faire is back in town this week, and thankfully the RNG gods have smiled upon me to reward me the Darkmoon Eye pet, which is pet number 500 in my collection! Yippeeeee!

His stats are nice, but I won't be desperately levelling him up just yet. I have just picked a new team which I am leveling so need to complete those three first. I'm hoping to get the achievements for having both 15 pets leveled to level 10 and 15 pets to level 25 asap! The current team consists of Mr.Bigglesworth, Lil' Rag and Murkablo and so far they are proving pretty cool. I never realised how detailed the Lil' Rag pet is, hats off to the pet designer of him!

I also treated myself to the dancing bear mount, which costs 180 darkmoon prize tokens, but since I have all the pets and there hasn't been any news that I have seen about a new one in the near future, I thought I would be safe to spend some! Definately looking to get the darkmoon strider to match my hatchling soon.
